William E. Kaufmann Jr., 68, of Whitehall, died Sept. 12, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Jo Ann (Leister) Kaufmann for 43 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Anna (Zaun) and the late William E. Kaufmann Sr.

He was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Freedom High School in 1968 and received a degree in health and physical education from Lynchburg College.

He worked as a mail carrier for 30 years. After retiring, he worked part time for AD Computer (Jet Pay) and drove the shuttle for Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, and coached girls basketball and softball for many years.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly and her husband Sean Carney of Hackettstown, N.J., and Theresa and her husband Gregory Colvin of Nazareth; two granddaughters, Casey and Lindsey; and a brother, Edward and his family.
