Julius “Joe” Hlasney, formerly of Whitehall, died Sept. 3, 2018, at Bethlehem Manor. He was the husband of Helen (Tutko) Hlasney for 68 years.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mucha) Hlasney.

He was an electrical technician for the former Western Electric before retiring.

He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Pensacola, Fla.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca and her husband James Kerin of Allentown; a son, Michael and his wife Linda of Whitehall; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Wonderly of Palmerton and Dorothy Irene Knox of Southern Pines, N.C.; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a great-grandchild.

Services will be private.
