LHS boys take first place
Liberty’s boys’ cross country team took first place out of 21 teams at the Lions Invitational last Friday at Moravian Academy.
Darlyn Fermin was the first Hurricane to finish for Liberty, coming in sixth with a time of 17:23.44, followed by Cole Frank who placed eighth in 17:28.05, and Ryan Wycherley who placed 10th in 17:44.01.
Philip Bezas was 27th in 18:24.44, Paul Jensen was 31st in 18:28.02, Casey Frank was 43rd in 18:49.88, and Sam Graybeal was 57th in 19:15.15.
Freedom’s boys’ cross country team placed ninth.
Nick Bauer took 19th place in 17:58.26, Alex Heidemann placed 24th in 18:12.78, and Josh Noel was 62nd in 19:22.38.
Dylan Stahl placed 70th in 19:35.99, John Carlos Sousa was 75th in 19:43.85, Christian Jancsarics came in 78th in 19:48.03, and Ryan Smizaski was 105th in 20:32.55.
In the girls’ race, Lauren Charboneau placed sixth in 20:24.00, followed by Liberty’s Belle Weikert who was ninth in 20:59.00, and Liberty’s Emily Jobes, who was 10th in 21:01.00.
Also from Liberty, Greta Stuckey placed 17th in 21:24.00, Grace Haas placed 20th in 21:43.00, Evelyn Sharkan was 40th in 22:58.00, and Madison Drager placed 43rd in 23:03.00
From Freedom, Mary Sweeney placed 42nd in 23:00.00, Camrey Yeager placed 50th in 23:16.00, Shannon Connelly was 52nd in 23:18.00, Eliza Filhman came in 54th in 23:21.00, Cailin Connelly was 55th in 23:21.00, and Sophie Twiggar placed 75th in 24:45.00.
In team scores, Liberty placed third and Freedom placed seventh out of nine teams.
Bethlehem Catholic competed in the Northampton Invitational on Saturday.
Aaron Smith was the first finisher for the Hawks, coming in 104th in 18:46.31.
Matthew Millen’s time was 18:57.36, Owen Fitzgerald had a time of 19:07.65, Daniel Smith ran a 19:09.67, Cody Weber ran a 23:08.44, Joshua Maruscak’s time was 23:14.57, and Vincent Dadlani had a time of 25:08.48.
In team results, Becahi placed 20th out of 31 teams.
In the girls’ race, Kahli Abrams was the first finisher for the Hawks, coming in 88th in 23:13.35.
Solei Rodriguez’s time was 23:29.67, Kayla Zigmont had a time of 23:56.28, Martina Shelor ran a 26:53.18, Jessica Finney ran a 28:34.61, and Shylynn Cordero had a time of 29:43.86.
In team results, Becahi placed 22nd out of 25 teams.
