Hurricanes top Becahi

Liberty’s boys’ soccer season-opener against Bethlehem Catholic ended in a 4-1 victory for the Hurricanes on Saturday at Becahi.

Freedom also won its season opener, 12-0, against Dieruff on Saturday at Freedom.

The Patriots scored nine goals in the first half.

Derek Bast had the shutout for Freedom.

Bradley Turocy scored three goals, Benjamin Reich, Jared Whitehorn, and Sebastian Garces scored two goals apiece, and Michael Gschrey, Tye Roemersma and Ryan Raffino scored one goal each.

Whitehorn had three assists, Garces and Roemersma had two assists, and Zachary Fereno, Daniel Ramirez, and Peter McGibbon had one assist.

At Becahi, Liberty took a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Aleman Aguilar scored twice for the Hurricanes, and Spencer Koski and Mauro Solano had one goal apiece.

Assists were made by Maxwell Molloy, Sander Sahaydak, and Salem Hatungimana.

Kevin Yusella scored for the Hawks in the second half.

Liberty will host Easton this Wednesday, and Becahi will host Freedom on Friday.
