Robert Kip Doescher, 84, of Emmaus, died Sept. 2, 2018. He was the husband of Diana Mae Brown Doescher. They just celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Utica, N.Y., he was a son of the late Katharine Kipp Doescher and Frederick William Doescher.
He graduated from high school at Utica Free Academy. He furthered his education at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., graduating in 1956. He was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.
He worked as a sales manager for the Mobil Oil Corporation, retiring in 1991, after 36 years.
He coached Little League baseball and youth ice hockey. He was a die-hard sports fan, especially for the Philadelphia Phillies.
He was a fanatic about lawn care, clean automobiles, and Brooks Brothers shirts. He loved vacationing in Upstate New York and Canada.
He is survived by his wife; brother, William F. and his wife, Linda; daughter, Deborah Wertman and her husband Paul Scott; son, Kip; son, Grant and his wife Kelly; grandchildren, Ashley Wertman, Trevor and Skylar. He was predeceased by a grandson, Cooper Wertman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A gathering will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 9 in the funeral home.
