American Heart Association

L.V. Heart Walk on Sept. 22

The American Heart Association is holding the 2018 Lehigh Valley Heart Walk with registration and festivities beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way. The 2.5-mile SteelStacks campus walk steps off at noon.

Activities include free CPR demonstrations, healthy snacks, activities for kids and live entertainment.

The local heart walk is sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Network, Coordinated Health, PSECU, Lutron, B. Braun Medical, Cohen Feeley Altemose & Rambo and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital. St. Luke’s Health Network

St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) recently launched its new Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Luke’s Miners Campus that provides post-graduate training for physicians wanting to practice family care in a rural setting.

The program is one of 34 nationwide, and the only one in Pennsylvania, that is accredited as integrated rural training tracks. It is integrated program with St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency – Warren, Phillipsburg, N.J., and St. Luke’s Hometown Rural Health Center.
