Ross E. Ritter, 81, of Macungie, died suddenly at home Aug. 19, 2018. He was the husband of Carol Ritter for 56 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and Ethel Evans Ritter.

He graduated from Abington High School in 1955 and from Lafayette College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.

In 1962, he partnered with his father to form Ritter Associates, a manufacturers’ representative agency, where he worked for 30 years. He was the marketing manager of Corro Therm Special Coatings in Feasterville for 15 years before retiring.

He was a member of Abington Presbyterian Church for 40 years, where he served as a deacon for six years. From 1996, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. He served on the Abington High School Scholarship Committee for 20 years.

He was a lifelong model car collector and model railroad enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife; children, Scott, of Jamestown, N.C.; Susan Smerker, of Wescosville, Sharon, of San Diego, Calif.; sister Joyce and her husband Richard Stover; grandchildren, John, Matt and Patrick; Ryan, Michael and Laura Smerker and Anne and Michael Ehart.
