On Aug. 20, the long-awaited and weather-delayed beams traveled to Coplay to be installed on the Coplay side of the Coplay-Northampton Bridge.

A daily run of beams last week was expected. Two beams were scheduled each day, with four making the journey last Thursday.

This week had a similarly intense schedule.

The circuitous route starts in Pottsville, hits Route 78 East at Cabela’s and heads north on Route 145. Once near Coplay, the truck makes a turn onto Columbia Street, travels down Oak Street to Maple Street to Chestnut Street. After crossing the construction site at Chestnut and Second streets, the driver takes a newly constructed road to the work site.
