Wilmer A. Hertzog, 94, of Emmaus, died Aug. 11, 2018, in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of the late Dorthea M. (Buchecker) Hertzog and Ruth I. (Huyett) Hertzog. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Eva M. (Stephen) Hertzog.
He honorably served his country in the Navy during World War II in the African-Mediterranean Campaign and the Atlantic European Theaters.
He was an electrician for the Reading Railroad Co., Central Railroad of New Jersey and the Philadelphia Bethlehem and New England Railroad Co.
He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus.
He was a member of Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, Lehigh Consistory and a life member of Macungie VFW Post #9264.
He is survived by sons, Glenn A. and his wife Connie, of Palm Coast, Fla. and Alan A. and his wife Karen, of Breinigsville; grandchildren, Kara, Corey, Mindi and her husband Greg Hild and Justin and his wife Kristine Poyner; great-grandchildren, Noah, Zachary, Jace and Naomi.
