Virginia A. Ruch, 79, of Slatington, died Aug. 15, 2018, in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 27, 1939, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Utsch and the late Florence (Foulke) Utsch.

She was the wife of the late Alton C.H. Algard who died in 1993.

She is survived by husband Richard Ruch with whom she celebrated 23 years of marriage in January.

A graduate of Parkland High School, she was a homemaker all her life caring for her family.

She was a member of Northampton Assembly of God and the facilitator for the church’s Good News Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons David A. Algard of Walnutport, Daniel A. Algard and wife, LouAnn, of Andreas, and Jonathan C. Algard and wife, Denise, of Coplay; daughter Deborah A., wife of Joseph Ligato of Slatington; stepsons Kenneth Ruch and wife, Andrea, of Newton, N.J. and Jeffrey Ruch of Elizabethtown; sisters Kathleen Bachman of Whitehall and Diane, wife of Radwan Jarrouj of Orefield, 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
