Betty L. Burns, 93, formerly of Slatington, and Canton, Ohio, died peacefully Aug. 12, 2018, in Brookdale Assisted Living, Stillwater, Okla.

She was the wife of the late Carlyle P. Burns who died in 2001.

Born June 1, 1925, in Newside, she was the daughter of the late Harvey D. and Helen M. (Rau) Lorah.

She was the office manager of Nickels Bakery for 30 years before retiring.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Slatington.

Her survivors include son Col. Terry L. Burns, U.S. Army, retired, and his wife, Cindy, of Stillwater; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at Union Church Cemetery, 5550 Route 873, Neffs, with Pastor Henry A. Distler officiating.

There will be no calling hours.
