Barbara G. Ahlert, 85, of Kempton, formerly of Buttzville, N.J., died July 28, 2018 at home.

Born in Copper Cliff Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Charles K. and Charlotte G. (Haight) Aldrich.

She was a 1951 graduate of Belvidere High School, Belvidere, N.J.

Her survivors include sons Michael David (Charis Lindrooth) Ahlert at home, and William King (Karen) Ahlert of Shimerville; daughter Christi Ann VanHorn of Green Lane; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Cheri Saunders of Quakertown.

A memorial gathering will be held 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at her former home in Buttzville, with an informal reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made in her name to The Humane Society of the United States sent to 1255 23rd St., NW, Suite 450, Washington, D.C. 20037.
