Jay H. Fasnacht
Jay H. Fasnacht, 82, of Macungie, died peacefully July 27, 2018, at home.
He was the loving husband of Marian Louise (Wolgemuth) Fasnacht for 60 years last October.
Born on Aug. 20, 1935, in East Cocalico Township, he was a son of the late Alvin S. and Esther (Showalter) Fasnacht.
He graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1962.
He was affiliated with KPMG Certified Public Accountants, formerly Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co, in Cleveland, from 1962-67, and in the Lehigh Valley from 1967-95.
After being promoted to partner in 1974, he served as managing partner in the Lehigh Valley office from 1976-95.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and served in several offices of the local chapter of PICPA, including president.
He was a member of a local Kiwanis Club and the local chapter of Management Accountants (formerly National Association of Accountants) and served in several offices in both, including president.
He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Lehigh Valley Business in 2014.
After living in Sarasota, Fla., from 1996-02, he returned to the Lehigh Valley and joined Regan, Searles, CPAs in 2002.
He then joined RLB CPAs and Accountants as principal in 2010.
A member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church since 1968, he served as elder and treasurer from 1971-96.
He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bible Fellowship Church denomination from 1976-96 and as a member of the BFC Executive Board from its formation until the present, serving as its treasurer.
In addition, he served as vice president of the Board of the Lehigh Valley Industrial Development Corporation, and as president of the Lehigh Economic Advancement Project.
Other board service included Messiah College, Pinebrook Junior College, Lehigh Christian Academy and the local chapter of American Lung Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Laurette K. and husband, Dr. Raymond Durkin, of Coopersburg, children Raymond Jr., Matthew and Olivia; daughter Sandra L. and husband, Dr. Larry Rhine, of Orefield, children Mark, Lauren and Natalie; daughter Lee Ann and husband, Michael Fenstermacher, of Bath, their children, Kirsten, Eric, and Taylor; brother Day and wife, Joyce, of Denver, Lancaster County; sister Fay and husband, Carl Eberly, of Ephrata; nieces and nephews.
