Barbara Lynn Schleicher, 62, of Haymarket, Va., and Allentown, died July 15, 2018, peacefully at home following a courageous 13-year battle with cancer.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Jean H. Lubas of Blandon, and the late Walter Lubas Jr.

She is survived by her husband, David, of Haymarket; daughters Karen Jordan, wife of Richard Jordan, of Sinking Spring, Kristen Gajewski, wife of TJ Gajewski, of Wyomissing, and Janelle Schleicher of Baltimore, Md.; and four precious grandchildren.

During 39 years of marriage, she lived, worked and volunteered in Honesdale, Harrisburg, Clarks Summit, Allentown, Statesville, N.C. and Haymarket.

A graduate of Millersville University with a degree in elementary education, she worked as a teacher and literacy tutor over many years.

She was also an active advocate for animals, volunteering and teaching at Rescue Ranch in Statesville.
