LEPOCO’s First Friday film, “Rhapsody in August,” will be shown at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the LEPOCO Peace Center, 313 West Fourth St.
The free screening is director Akira Kurosawa’s 98 minute Japanese tale of a three generation family and their response to the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki. Those attending are invited to bring a beverage or snack to share.
“Love the World: Ban the Bombs,” a Hiroshima-Nagasaki bombing commemoration, will be held at 6 p.m. August 5, the 73 anniversary of the bombings of those cities.
The program begins at Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley, 424 Center St.. Weather permitting, the group will process to Tondabayashi Garden, Church St., along the west side of the Bethlehem Public Library), for the remainder of the program.
