James Rickard, 71, of Macungie, died July 28, 2018, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Mae (Weaver) Rickard. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Reginald H. and Margaret (Czekitz) Rickard.

He was a service technician for JES Basement Systems before retiring.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Jill L., of Macungie; sons, Michael A., of Macungie, Jason J. and his wife Amanda, of Matamoras; grandchildren: Anthony, Jordin, Chase, Caden; brothers, Reginald and his wife Roseann, of Allentown, Ronald, of Peoria, Ariz., Jeffrey and his wife Susan, of Allentown; sisters, Elizabeth Godfrey, of Omaha, Neb., Regina Lightcap, of Coopersburg, Margaret Frenier, of New Church, Va.

A viewing will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown.
