Students earn scholarships
Alvernia
The following students have earned merit scholarships to attend Alvernia University, Reading, in the fall.
Allentown: Allie Bianco at Parkland High School student, has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship to study occupational therapy; Mackenzie Lewis, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, will receive the Presidential Scholarship to study theater and Kaitlyn Ohl, Parkland High School, has been awarded the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship to study occupational therapy;
Breinigsville: Kandice Solotruk, Parkland High School, will receive the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship to study early childhood and special education;
Fogelsville: Abigail Chisdak, Northwestern Lehigh High School, will receive the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship to study early childhood and special education;
Germansville: Lucy Conrey, Northwestern Lehigh High School, was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to study occupational therapy;
New Tripoli: Logan Collins, Northwestern Lehigh High School, will receive the Trustees’ Scholarship to study nursing, and Gabrielle Sevrain, Northwestern Lehigh High School, was awarded the Trustees’ Scholarship to study biology; and
Orefield: Anita Werner, Allentown Central Catholic High School, has been granted the Trustees’ Scholarship to study occupational therapy.
Applicants for Alvernia’s $18,000 Presidential Scholarship must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 and minimum SAT score of 1130 on the old test/1200 on the new one (or 25 ACT).
The university’s $17,000 Trustees Scholarship requires a minimum grade-point average of 3.2 and minimum SAT score of 1050 SAT old/1130 new (or 23 ACT), and the $16,000 Veronica Founder’s Scholarship requires applicants to have minimum grade point average of 3.0 and minimum SAT score of 980 old/1060 new (21 ACT).
