The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue began on July 2 to issue rebates totaling $201 million through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. The distributions benefit about 425,000 older homeowners, renters and people with disabilities in the state.
The law allows rebate distributions to begin July 1, which fell on a Sunday in 2018, moving that date to July 2. To check the online status of a claim, or for information, visit www.revenue.pa.gov and click on “Where’s My Property Tax/Rent Rebate?” or call, toll-free, 1-888-PATAXES.
The program is funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery and revenue from slots gaming.
