Reginald Jay Root, 82, of Alburtis, died July 14, 2018, at home. He was the husband of the late Hope P. (Heffner) Root. Born in Morrisville, he was a son of the late Stanley Busch Root and Dorothy (Brown) Root.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War for 25 years, retiring as Torpedo Man’s Mate, First Class.

He is survived by sons, Reginald J. Jr.; Randall J. and his wife, Dana; daughters, Sandra P. and companion, Paul C. Seifert; Tina L., and her husband Ricky L. Moyer; sister, Betty Homa; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Ricky in 2009; two brothers, Stanley and Gary.

Services will be held 11 a.m. July 19, in the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Visitation will begin 10:30 a.m.
