Eugene A. Shuxteau, 93, of Macungie, died June 28, 2018 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Marielies M. (Tauscher) Shuxteau. Born in Downers Grove, Ill., he was the son of the late Andre and Vlasta (Novak) Shuxteau.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a sales manager at Jefferson Smurfit Company for 40 years until retiring in 1987. He was a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Allentown and was a former advisory board member of the Salvation Army for 25 years.

He is survived by sons, Eugene D. and his wife Jan, of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Mark, of Northampton; daughters, Darcene and her husband Dale Utt, of Macungie and Lisa and her husband Christopher Sabia Sr., of Hendersonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sisters, Ruthe Horak and Elaine Masuoka.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Hope U.C.C. Church, Allentown, the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Phoebe Home, Allentown.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
