Christopher J. Abel, 48, of Allentown, formerly of Lower Macungie, died June 28, 2018. He was the loving husband of Tara (Herstich) Abel with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of James and Barbara (Wickert) Abel.

He was a graduate of Saucon Valley High School, Class of 1988, where he was an avid wrestler.

He worked as a machinist at B&G Manufacturing for most of his life.

He enjoyed traveling with his daughter’s tournament teams and was a softball coach for L.M.Y.A.

He was a former member of Silver Creek Country Club.

He was an avid golfer, S.E.C. Sports fan and University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Amber and Samantha, at home; parents; grandson, Sterling Christopher; brother, Michael, of Bethlehem; sister, Stacy and her husband Jarrod Ownbey, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; in-laws, Anthony and Dianne Herstich, of Hellertown; brother-in-law, Anthony Herstich, of Seminole, Fla; many loving nieces and nephews.
