Stephen S. Emery Sr., 84, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died July 1, 2018. He was the husband of Shirley J. (Gangawere). They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past December. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Isabel (Fehr) Emery Sr.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked at Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown for 21 years as a lift truck operator, retiring in 1987.

He was a 57 year active duty Allentown police reservist. He was a 1987 Police Academy graduate and an NRA Range Officer at the Police Academy.

He was a member of the House of Refuge, Allentown.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Jane and her husband Dale Blattenberger, of Allentown, Lisa M., of Bethlehem, Kim and her husband Scott Sukanick, of Allentown; son, Stephen S. Jr. and his wife Erin, of Sherwood, Ore.; brother, John Jr., of East Brunswick, N.Y.; grandchildren, John Stahl and his wife Joanna (their children, Jada and Cameron), Matthew and his wife Cassandra, Isabelle, Stephen and his wife Erin, Nicole, Megan and Thomas. He was predeceased by brother, James Sr.
