C. Dean Frankenfield, 95, of Macungie, died at home June 27, 2018. He was the husband of Diana (Trinkle) Schenkenberger Frankenfield and the late Beverly (Bemm) Frankenfield. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late John and Octavia (Link) Frankenfield.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Trexlertown and was a Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army during World War II. Dean was the former owner of KOA Camp Grounds in Blakeslee. Previously he was a ski instructor, winning the Ski Instructor of the Year Award for the east coast and was the co-owner and builder of Big Valley Ski Area.

In addition to his wife, she is survived by children, Dean C. and his wife Robyn, Douglas C. and his wife Paulette, Brian Schenkenberger and his wife Martha, Lisa Morgan and her husband Dennis and Jenifer Mitana; grandchildren, Troy, Amanda, Justin, Preston, Travis, Ryan, Meghan, Kristoffer, Steffan and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Kaela, Gavin, Cameron, Mason, Cassie, Teighan, Lily and Julianna.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, 18049 to assist the family with expenses.
