Barbara S. Blair, 87, of Emmaus, died July 8, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of Walter J. Blair for 61 years. Born in The Bronx, and raised in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Gertrude and George Simonsen. She and her husband moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1960.

She was a graduate of the Halsted School, Yonkers, N.Y. and Berkeley College, New York, N.Y. She worked for the American Cyanamid Company located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, N.Y. Years later she was employed by Rodale Press, Emmaus.

She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church participating in Christian Education, Wednesday Morning Bible Study, The Hospitality Committee, American Baptist Women and represented the church at the Ecumenical Food Bank for many years.

She is survived by her husband; son, David, of Yonkers, N.Y.; daughter, Susan, and her husband Charles Bearish, of Allentown. She was predeceased by her parents, younger twin sisters, Phyllis (Patsy) Simonsen and Dolores (Peppy) Simonsen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 W. Tilghman St., Allentown, 18104.

Services will be held July 11 at Calvary Baptist Church. A calling time will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. July 11 with a service to follow 11 a.m. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
