VYH appoints new directors
Valley Youth House added eight people to the board of directors at the VYH annual meeting May 17. Joining the 27 current members are Adrienne Bonser, Kevin Greene, James M. Higgins, Philip C. Jackson, Catherine Maxey, Dr. Cynthia Mota, Michael Rice and Maura Topper. VYH’s mission is to be the catalyst for youth to achieve their desired future through genuine relationships that support families, ensure safe places, and build community connections.
Valley Youth House has received a major grant of $15,000 from the Provident Bank Foundation to help underwrite programming to benefit homeless Lehigh Valley youth, ages 18-24, who are being served by the VYH Supportive Housing Program.
In 2017, the program supported 54 youth and 52 infants/children, many of whom were homeless. and living on the streets.
The youth are connected weekly with Life Skills counselors to help them with high school completion/post-secondary training, employment and transitioning to stable housing.

Zerbe in Alvernia Circle K Club
Abigail Zerbe, of Bethlehem, participated in the Circle K club at Alvernia University during 2017-18. She is studying early childhood education pre K-4 with special education pre K-8.
Circle K International is a service organization led by Kiwanis International, and was formed to help the community through various projects.
