Emergency staff honored for saving life

Earlier this month, Bethlehem resident Kirk Hawk suffered a heart attack while visiting the township community center. Thanks to the quick action of the staff, he has made a complete recovery. At the Bethlehem Township Commissioner’s June 18 meeting, several emergency workers received commendations: Dana Donatelli, Madisyn Einfalt, Kylene E Gill and William Wescoe.

Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company EMS Executive Director Robert Norder also reported that, for the third year in a row, the American Heart Association has awarded the township EMS its EMS Gold Level Recognition Award. This is based on care for the most vulnerable of patients – those with high-risk time-sensitive emergencies, including heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrest.

In an otherwise uneventful meeting, commissioners put a hold on seeking proposals for a consultant to advise on potential uses of the Archibald Johnston mansion. Housenick Park trustees have offered to pay half the cost.
