In Lehigh Valley’s second game on its second day in the Carpenter Cup Softball Classic last Wednesday at FDR Park in Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley defeated Suburban One, 5-0.
Emily Silberman (Salisbury) was the winning pitcher and Falcon teammate Peyton Stauffer had a double in the Lehigh Valley victory.
Lehigh Valley scored its first four runs in the second inning.
Abbey Sechler (Parkland) had three hits and scored twice in the game.
Addie Roche (Bethlehem Catholic) had two hits, 1 RBI, and scored once against Suburban One.
“We hit a gapper, and I ran home because it was a force play,” said Roche.
By game’s end, Lehigh Valley produced 13 hits, and Suburban One had six hits.
Lehigh Valley scored its final run in the fifth inning.
“We definitely came together on Wednesday, and our friendships were stronger, and I think that’s why we played so well,” said Roche.
