The National Museum of Industrial History will display of a copy of a rare anastatic printing the Declaration of Independence, from noon to 5 p.m. on July 4 at the museum, 602 E. Second St.
The copy, measuring 2’ 6.5” by 2’ 1.5”, is owned by historian Tom Lingenfelter. The only other known copy is at Independence Hall, Philadelphia.
NMIH is additionally displaying a hands on 100 year old printing press, with a create a coaster opportunity, at the Kutztown Folk Festival through July 8 at the Kutztown Fairgrounds, 450 Wentz St., Kutztown. The press is part of the museum’s Hot Off the Press: Printing and Papermaking exhibit running now through October at the museum. For information, visit http://nmih.org/.
