The Northampton Legion baseball team has gotten off to a blistering start in the NORCO League.
With a record of 8-1, Northampton sits atop the 12-team league and has amassed a run differential of 50-16. The Orange-and-Black defeated Wilson 5-1 on Friday, June 15 and Bankos 10-0 on Saturday, June 16.
Four of Northampton’s eight wins have come via shutout, including a no-hitter by Jared Hunsberger in the beginning of the month.
Northampton Legion hosts Roseto on Thursday, June 21 and travels to Hellertown on Friday, June 22.
The Northampton Connie Mack is also enjoying a great start to the summer season. They are tied for third place in the 23-team league with a record of 8-3.
Northampton defeated Pleasant Valley 13-0 on Friday, June 15.
The Northampton Connie Mack squad travels to first-place South Parkland on Friday, June 22 and hosts Southern Lehigh on Saturday, June 23.
To complete the great summer start for Northampton baseball, the Giants sit atop the Blue Mountain League with a record of 11-4-1.
Pat Kregeloh is hitting .474 with 12 RBI, ten runs scored, and two home runs on the season. Steve Sulcoski is hitting .472 with 14 runs scored and 12 RBI. Justin Aungst is 3-0 on the mound with three complete games and an ERA of 1.67 on the year.
The Giants play four games in four days from June 21-24. Northampton is on the road Thursday and Friday with home games on Saturday and Sunday.
