Stepping outdoors at SteelStacks

The fourth annual “Step Outdoors Lehigh Valley” festival June 2 and 3 at SteelStacks featured a number of family friendly activities designed to encourage kids and adults to experience the outdoors.

Activities this year included a mud run two-mile course, nature-themed artisan show and the Keystone DockDogs competition, which brought dog enthusiasts and competitors from all over.

Also offered were archery lessons and hands-on experience shooting at soft targets like balloons, bike test rides, crafts, camping, disc golf, fish casting and fly tying, an outdoor scavenger hunt and many other nature and outdoor experiences

Participants and presenters included the Sierra Club PA Chapter, Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, Banana Factory Arts Center, PBS39, PA Game Commission, Jacobsburg Historical Society, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, Keystone DockDogs, Wildlands Conservancy, LL Bean, Lehigh Valley Disc Club, Trout Unlimited, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites, Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Cutters Bike Shop, Keystone Elk Country Alliance, United Bowhunters of Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley Audubon Society, Nurture Nature Center, Appalachian Mountain Club, Friends of Minsi Lake, Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
