The Northampton boys’ basketball team has picked up right where they left off.
After advancing to the PIAA state playoffs in March, the K-Kids are 4-0 and sit atop the Cedar Beach Summer Basketball League standings.
Northampton defeated Freedom 45-36 on Tuesday, June 5.
Roy Ortega led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points. Zach Gula and Isaac Harris each chipped in eight.
The K-Kids jumped out to a 13-1 lead to start the contest and never trailed in the game. Donte Rodriguez scored Northampton’s first seven points to set the tone.
Northampton led 21-14 at halftime and Freedom never got the margin under five points in the second half.
Tyler DePaolis led the Patriots with 16 points. Frank Falco and Sandy Hernandez each scored seven.
The K-Kids play Emmaus on court three Thursday night at 8 p.m. followed by a June 12 contest against Central which is also on court 3 at 8 p.m.
