Veterans and their family members may participate in either a veterans or a family free writing workshops with Iraq Veteran Jenny Pacanowski and Vietnam Veteran Jan Barry from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room at ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way. No previous writing experience is necessary. There is a limit of 12 participants each. For reservations, email fvetinfo@gmail.com.

Bethlehem Municipal Band, 7:30 p.m. Rose Garden bandshell.

Hometown Heroes luminary display, 7 p.m. Adjacent to First Street at Steel Stacks. To participate, complete online form at https://fest.formstack.com/forms/luminary_display_registration_copy. Rain date: May 28. Proceeds will be donated to the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Gold Star Mothers Inc.

National moment of silence, 3 p.m.

Memorial service to remember the Lehigh Valley’s fallen soldiers. 5 p.m. Levitt Pavillion, Steel Stacks.
