Sharon L. Frankenfield

Sharon L. Frankenfield, 66, of Emmaus, died peacefully May 27, 2018, while in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Edna (Wambold) Frankenfield.

She was a graduate of Nazareth High School and later attended Muhlenberg College where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She then earned a master’s degree in library science from Clarion University.

She worked as a librarian for the Allentown Public Library for 26 years, first as a children’s librarian and then in reference. She conducted many reading clubs for both children and adults.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hecktown.

She enjoyed traveling, schooner sailing along the Maine coastline and visiting with friends on Campobello Island.

She is survived by sister, Beverly and her husband James H. Clause, of Nazareth; nephew, James A. Clause and his wife Elizabeth; nieces Kelly and her husband Valentine Whittaker and Amanda and her husband Patrick Mayo; eight loving and adored great-nieces and nephews; beloved dog companion Spencer.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102; Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity, 295 E. Center St., Nazareth, 18064 or to an animal charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
