Jean B. Welty, 88, of Emmaus, died May 17, 2018, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the wife of William J. Welty. They would have been married for 66 years this June. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Walter T. and Dorothy (Bittner) Bankhard.

She was a graduate of Allentown High School, Class of 1947.

She was a clerk for the Alfred Newhard Insurance Agency for many years before retiring from Rodale.

She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown and a member of the former St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Allentown.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Jan E. Smith, of Wescosville; grandchildren, Zachary, Alena and Jacob; brother-in-law, Julius Pasquariello; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Shirlee Pasquarillo.
