Elizabeth M. “Betty” Schmidt, 98, of Schnecksville, died May 18, 2018, in At Home at Parkland, where she received wonderful, loving care.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, Werner G. Schmidt.

Born Dec. 12, 1919, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Laura (Hewlett) Scarborough.

She was the oldest parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt, Whitehall.

Her survivors include children retired Col. Werner G. Schmidt Jr. and his wife, Delia Ann, of Boiling Springs, Elizabeth M. Lees and her husband, Victor H., of Schnecksville; daughter-in-law June Schmidt of Hinesville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen A. Schmidt.
