Paul D. Shoemaker, 97, of Emmaus, died peacefully May 2, 2018, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mae (Miller) Shoemaker. Born in Treichlers, he was the son of the late Edwin Shoemaker and the late Mabel (Owens) Shoemaker.

He was employed as a supervisor of manufacturing at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 22 years, retiring in 1980.

He honorably served his country during World War II as a sergeant in the Army from 1939 to 1945.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Cherryville and a member of the Masonic Lodge #792.

He is survived by a daughter, Judy and her husband Gerald Diehl Jr., of Emmaus; three grandsons, John, Jeffrey and Adam. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanette in 1982.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton.
