Ellen M. Faryniak, 91, of Salisbury Township, died May 2, 2018, in her home, surrounded by family and friends. She was happily married for 60 years to the late Walter Faryniak. who died in 2006. Born in Portage, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Bahizia Altif.

She worked in many businesses including 20 years at Classic Photo Laboratories, Allentown, with her husband who was its president.

She was an animal lover and belonged to many animal organizations. In the 1970’s she restarted the Lehigh County Humane Society Auxiliary and was the membership chair. She loved and respected the welfare of all animals.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey and his wife, Shirley and a daughter, Eileen Creitz; grandchildren, Tracy and her husband Ray Trexler, Eric and his wife Pam, and Jason; great-grandchildren Madison and Allison Faryniak and David Trexler. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Jaymie B. Creitz; brothers, Sam, Fred, George, Thomas and Albert Altif; sisters, Phoebe Zirpoli, Rose Haddad and Frieda Gural.
