Carl T. Ruch Sr., 74, of Schnecksville, died May 1, 2018, in his home.

He and his wife Julia A. (Williams) Ruch were married 55 years.

Born May 26, 1943, in Schnecksville, he was the son of the late Emery Jacob and Myrtle Irene (Gogel) Ruch.

He was an automobile mechanic at Gilboy Ford, Whitehall, for 35 years before retiring in 2000.

In the 1960s, he drove race car No. 74, at various local racetracks.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Grouse Hall, Ironton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Carl T. Jr. (Donna) of Cary, N.C., Randy M. (Terri) of Silver Spring, Md.; brother Warren A. (Sandy) of Orefield; grandchildren Brian, Rachel and Cara; beloved canines Peggy Sue and Lady.

He was predeceased by siblings Willoughby Ruch and Linda Belle Fuchs.

His service will be private, at the convenience of the family.
