Margaret Dluga Galus, 73, of Orefield, formerly of Allentown, died April 24, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

She and her husband John Galus were married 54 years on Jan. 16.

Born Jan. 21, 1945, in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jakub Dlugi and Anna (Majerczak) Dluga.

A graduate of the former Northampton County Community College, now Northampton Community College, with a degree in culinary arts, she owned the former Lantern Restaurant, Bethlehem, for seven years before retiring in 2008.

Before that, she was a chef at Wegmans, Allentown, and Brookside Country Club, Macungie, for many years.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Robert J. and his wife, Ewa, of Breinigsville; siblings John Dlugi of Philadelphia, Frank and Jakub Dlugi and Maria Klukoszowska, all of Poland; and grandchildren Max, Julia, Amelia and Scarlett.
