Claire Rose Rantz

Claire Rose Rantz, 84, of Renaissance Home, Northampton, died April 9, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

She was the wife of the late Donald E. Rantz.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (McGinley) McGeehin.

For more than 50 years, she worked as a registered nurse, beginning her career at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City, New York, later working with various medical facilities in the Lehigh Valley and lastly retiring from Luther Crest retirement community.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield.

She will be remembered for being a loving, caring and faithful woman and a friend to all she met.

Mostly, she will be remembered for the adoration she had for her grandchildren who lovingly called her GaGa.

Her survivors include a son William F. and his wife, Doreen, of Upper Macungie Township; daughter Judy R., and her husband, Chris Wasko, of Leesburg, Va.; grandchildren Joshua and his wife, Sarah Wasko, Jacob and Anna Claire Wasko, Marlee and Matthew Rantz, brother-in-law Ashbel G. Gulliver; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Frank, Tommy and Larry McGeehin, sister Mary Ann Klerx, and twin sister Alice Gulliver.
