Carolyn C.M. Hamscher, 61, of Allentown, died April 18, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Mark E. Hamscher. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Dr. John and Eleanor (Tubo) Madonna.
She worked as a registered nurse in the operating room at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 20 years.
She was an active leader in the “Jesus Calling” prayer group.
She was a beloved mother and granny. Her favorite thing was to spend time with her family and close friends as well as her cats.
She is survived by a son, Daniel E. and his fiancee Christine Minekime, of Hereford; daughters, Amy M. and her husband Jacob Smerekar, of Easton and Janelle R. and David Blank, of Emmaus; sisters, Kathryn wife of Shelby Flom, of Bethlehem, Kim Rose, of Bethlehem, and Diane Madonna-Mauer, of Nevada; granddaughters, Athena Hamscher and Veona Gilbreath; nieces and nephews, Lori, Erik, Drew, Christopher, Jesse and Jason. She was predeceased by siblings, Eleanor Geist and John Madonna.
Contributions may be made to the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C. to defray funeral expenses. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
