Students earn top honors

J. Madison

The following students were named to the president’s list for the fall 2017 semester at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.

Fogelsville: Nicolette Chuss;

New Tripoli: Regen Elise Zimmerman, majoring in health sciences; and

Schnecksville: Caitlin Carlson.

Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.900 or above.

The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at James Madison.

Allentown: Alyssa Rose Coronati

New Tripoli: Morgan Brittany Collins, Amy Danielle Lebrecht; and

Orefield: Olivia Hope Dungan.

Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade-point average of between 3.5 and 3.899.

Gettysburg

Daniel Shussett of Allentown, a philosophy major at Gettysburg College, has returned from studying in Greece.

At Gettysburg, students use the opportunity to study globally to pursue diverse paths in multiple areas of study.

Morrisville

Taylor Parrish of Kempton was named to the president’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Morrisville State College, Morrisville, N.Y.

Parrish is majoring in equine science.

To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Muhlenberg

Jacob Najarian of Kempton was one of 56 student-athletes recognized for their performance in the classroom and on the field with their selection to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2017 season at Muhlenberg College, Allentown.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

The 56 honorees top the previous Mule record of 55 set each of the last two falls.

In addition, 11 Mules were named to the Academic All-Centennial team for earning spots on the Academic Honor Roll and the All-CC team in their sport.

Cedar Crest

Megan Sorensen of New Tripoli is among the 19 students recently earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Cedar Crest College, Allentown.

The Nursing Department Winter Pinning Ceremony took place Jan. 19.

Sorensen is a 2013 Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate.

She is the daughter of LeRoy and Louise Sorensen of New Tripoli.

DeSales

Kyle Sorensen, a 2011 Northwestern Lehigh graduate, completed the fall semester with a 3.95 grade-point average in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at DeSales University, Center Valley.

He is the son of LeRoy and Louise Sorensen of New Tripoli.
