Harold R. Gehringer, 87, of Kutztown. died April 11, 2018, at home.

He and his wife Mildred E.L. (Wessner) Gehringer were married 68 years last August.

Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Robert and Lillian (Held) Gehringer.

He was a farmer all his life in Weisenberg Township and was a truck driver for the former Wessner’s Grains, Kutztown, for 30 years.

A member of Ziegels Lutheran Church, Breinigsville, he served 16 years on church council.

For 55 years, he was a member of the Seipstown Grange where he served as an officer on the board.

His heart was always in farming, and he was dedicated to the preservation and conservation of farmland, receiving the Lehigh County Conservation Farmer Award in 2001.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth H. and wife, Diane, of Kutztown; foster daughter, Brenda Isamoyer, of Kutztown; grandchildren Wyatt J. Gehringer and wife, Leah, Cyrus M. Gehringer and wife, Jenny, Charles Isamoyer and wife, Devin; great-grandchildren Ashtyn and Wade Gehringer; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Marvin, and sister Helen Geist.
