Valley residents graduate basic

U.S. Air Force Airmen Alicia Martinez and Zachary R. Butler have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Martinez and Butler completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Martinez, the daughter of Jelena Morel of Allentown, is a 2012 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown.

Butler, the son of Jon Butler and stepson of Jaime Williams of Schnecksville, is a 2017 graduate of Parkland High School.
