Parkland student named 2018 global teen leader

We Are Family Foundation has announced the 2018 Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leaders, representing 11 countries on five continents.

Parkland High School student Aryaman Khandelwal is one of 33 teens innovating technology to improve health care, develop agricultural solutions to increase food security, promote unity and tolerance to bridge the current political divide and equalize education access for students everywhere.

These teen leaders are addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues across the spectrum.

“Meeting and working with the Global Teen Leaders who come through our door is absolutely one of the most important things in my life,” Nile Rodgers, founder and chairman, We Are Family Foundation. “It’s almost impossible to explain how enriched I am by each and every GTL. I have watched Three Dot Dash develop from just an idea, into what is now a successful program that’s 10 years strong. I’m so proud and honored to be surrounded by such an amazing group of young people changing the face of this world for good.”

Three Dot Dash is a global youth initiative of We Are Family Foundation inspired by the late New York Times best-selling poet and peacemaker, 13-year-old Mattie J.T. Stepanek.

It is a yearlong social entrepreneur incubator and mentoring program designed to amplify the work of young people successfully addressing issues related to basic human needs (education, environment, food, health, safety, shelter, water), and having a positive impact on our global communities.

“Peace is possible if our basic human needs are met,” Stepanek said.

We Are Family Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by legendary musician Nile Rodgers. It is dedicated to the visions of a global family by creating programs that promote cultural diversity while nurturing and mentoring the vision, talents and ideas of young people who are positively changing the world.
