Donald R. Anthony, 89, of Allentown, formerly of Northampton, died March 7, 2018, in Whitehall Manor.

He and his wife Florence M. (Morrissey) Anthony were married 57 years last Dec. 10.

Born May 16, 1928, in Quakertown, he was the son of the late John P. and Mildred E. (Sherer) Anthony.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army with the 623rd Field Artillery Battalion during the Korean War and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

A member of Teamsters Union Local 773, he was a long distance truck driver at the former Exide Battery before retiring in 1994.

Where ever he traveled, he maintained lifelong friendships which he cherished.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey M. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Allentown; and a daughter Susan H. Anthony and her fiancé, Frank S. Trent, of Ogden, Utah.
