Leon P. Rex III, 83, of Slatington, died on Feb. 19, 2018, in his home.

He and his wife Joyce L. (Myers) Rex were married 54 years last July 20.

Born Dec. 2, 1934, in Red Bank, Monmouth County, N.J., he was the son of the late Leon P. Jr. and Helen L. (Bair) Rex.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during a peacetime era.

He was vice president and co-founder of Jo-Le Equipment Inc., Slatington, for the last 30 years.

He was a member of Grace Gospel Chapel, Allentown

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Alan D. Rex (Bonnie), and Kenneth S. Rex (Stacy), all of Slatington, Brenda S. Snyder (Glenn) of New Ringgold, Marvin E. Rex (Cheri) of Slatington, Glenn D. Rex (Kim) of Slatington; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
