Donna Marushak, 60, of Slatington, died Feb. 21, 2018, in her home.
She and her husband Neil B. Marushak were married 36 years last Sept. 5.
Born Sept. 27, 1957, in Freeport, N.Y., she was the daughter of Albert J. and Ann (Pardes) Reed of Allentown.
A graduate of St. Bonaventure and Wilkes universities, she was a teacher in the Northern Lehigh School District for 23 years before retiring in 2014.
Before that, she taught at the Sacred Heart School, Allentown, and the Northern Potter Children’s School, Ulysses.
A member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, she was very active with the Women’s Guild.
She loved giving piano lessons, traveling and boating with her husband, reading books to her grandson, sitting with her dog, Bella, and her faith in Jesus.
She used to say, “I loved my life. I loved my family.”
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her daughter Jessie A. Marushak of Philadelphia; son Jacob R. Marushak and his wife, Shannon, of Schwenksville; grandson Liam R. Marushak; brother William Reed and his wife, Valerie, of Langhorne; sister Alison Ray and her husband, Philip, of Exton; aunt Madeline Reed of Allentown; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
