At a brief meeting Feb. 15, Upper Milford Township supervisors passed a resolution supporting FairDistrictPA’s efforts to reform the redistricting process. FairDistrictsPA is a statewide group advocating for reform to make the process of redistricting less partisan. The group is supporting two bills in the state legislature, Senate Bill 22 and House Bill 722, which would create an independent commission to draw congressional and legislative district lines.
Most, but not all, local legislators have signed on to co-sponsor these bills. Among the handful who have not is State Rep. Ryan MacKenzie, R-134th.
In other action last week, the supervisors approved the purchase of a truck body for $79,820 and an all-terrain vehicle which would be used for park maintenance, for $10,942.
