Liberty’s girls’ swim team was victorious over Pocono Mountain East last week 91-74.
The Hurricanes opened the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a combination of Anna Lehr, Grace Russo, Sabrina Krotzer, and Kendra Smith in 1:59.42.
Lehr went on to win the 200 free in 2:06.68.
Abby Mack took first place in the 200 IM in 2:21.57.
Samantha Taylor was a double event winner in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.85 and in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.71.
Cara Kuykens was first in diving.
“I feel like I improved a little. I changed my hurdle for the forward approach so it’s helped me go a lot higher, so I can do a lot more dives,” Kuykens said. “My inward dive pike has been pretty good and any twisting dive is OK.”
In the 100 free, Smith was out touched by Pocono Mountain East’s Lauren Fenn whose time was 57.12 while Smith’s was 57.39. Greta Stuckey was third in the same event in 1:02.49.
In the 500 free, the Hurricanes had a 1-2-3 finish, led by Kay Wetmore in 5:29.32, followed by Molly Gray, and Theresa Cazarrubias.
Liberty’s swim team will travel to Freedom this Thursday after having faced Emmaus on Monday.
